Lake Pukaki

A large moraine-dammed lake at the foot of the Aoraki/Mount Cook mountains, on New Zealand's south island, that is most remarkable for its intense blue-turquoise-green color (due to glacial flour). The natural outflow at its southern end has been dammed to use its waters for hydroelectric power generation.
