Fagus (beech)

A group of deciduous trees with species in Asia (five species), North America (Fagus grandifolia), and Europe (Fagus sylvatica). Especially of the European Beech (F. sylvatica), there exist many varieties, for example weeping beech or purple beech, which are planted as ornamentals.
